24/7 emergency response across Nepal

About us

The desk behind the rescue.

HeliAmbulance Nepal is a 24/7 helicopter ambulance and rescue coordination service based in Kathmandu. When something goes wrong in the mountains or in a remote district, one call sets everything in motion.

What we do

One number, the whole chain

A helicopter rescue is never just a helicopter. It is a weather decision, a flight clearance, an insurance approval, a fuel plan, a medical crew, a landing zone and a hospital bed, all arranged while the patient waits. That chain is our job.

The operations desk answers around the clock. Coordinators verify the case, arrange the guarantee of payment with the insurer or the family, task the nearest available CAAN licensed helicopter, brief the crew and arrange the receiving hospital. After the flight, the same desk prepares every document the insurance claim will need.

We work with trekking agencies, expedition operators, guides, lodges, district hospitals and families. Most of our calls come from a guide standing next to a sick trekker, or a family member in a village far from a road.

Who is on the line

Three roles on every mission

Flight coordinators

The voice that answers. They gather the four facts that launch a flight, manage the insurer, the operator and the hospital, and stay reachable until handover is complete.

Mountain pilots

Missions fly with pilots experienced in Himalayan terrain, thin air and short mountain landing zones. The pilot always has the final word on weather and weight.

Medical escorts

On medical transfers and serious rescues, a nurse or paramedic flies with the patient, managing oxygen, monitoring and stretcher care until the hospital team takes over.

How we work

Four commitments

Safety before speed

A helicopter that does not arrive helps nobody. Launch decisions follow daylight and weather rules, and no coordinator ever pressures a pilot to fly.

Straight answers about money

Costs, coverage and payment options are explained before the flight, not after. Every mission ends with an itemized invoice and a complete claim document pack.

Genuine emergencies only

Evacuation is for medical need, confirmed with the guide, the patient and where possible a medical opinion. That protects patients, insurers and the trust the whole system runs on.

Nobody left waiting for paperwork

Nepali citizens fly without insurance. For foreign patients, the desk pushes the guarantee of payment through while the aircraft is being readied, not after.
